Jake Sweezy
Pilot
Meet Jake Sweezy, a highly accomplished aviator with a rich background in military and commercial aviation. As a Rated Army Aviator and Commander, he excelled in carrier-based Naval Aviator Attack operations. After retiring from Southwest Airlines, Jake co-owned and operated SK Logistics, specializing in helicopter organ recovery in Jacksonville, Florida.
Currently, Jake serves as the aircraft manager and contract pilot for the Jets With Benefits fleet. Holding instructor ratings including CFI, CFII, MEI, HI, HII, and AGI, he brings a wealth of expertise to the aviation community. Jake’s remarkable journey and ongoing contributions to the skies make him a distinguished figure in the world of aviation.
John Appel
Maintenance Manager
Jon Appel, Terra's Maintenance Manager, is a seasoned aircraft maintenance technician. Graduating from Spartan College of Aeronautics in 2004, Jon holds an FAA A&P License and specialized training from FlightSafety.
Jon served as the Director of Maintenance at Stellar Aero in Jacksonville, overseeing all aircraft maintenance activities and managing inventory. He has also worked at Textron Aviation and Northrop Grumman, troubleshooting AOG aircraft and maintaining fleets of Gulfstream and Citation jets. He served as the Airframe Technician, Crew Leader Flight Controls, and Flight Control Technician during his tenure at Duncan Aviation, showcasing expertise in coordinating work scopes and leading inspection projects.
Now, at Jets With Benefits, Jon channels his extensive expertise into leading maintenance initiatives, contributing to the success of aviation projects and safety.
